Platform appoints Director of IT
Platform, the intermediary lender of Britannia, is
delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Gannon to the post of
Director of Information Technology.
Reporting directly into Managing Director David Tweedy, Mike
will take responsibility for the development of Platform’s IT
strategy to further enhance the lender’s technological capability
and service delivery.
Mike has over 27 years IT experience in the financial services
industry including senior posts held with Barclays, Royal Bank of
Scotland and Abbey. Mike also spent three years with Intelligent
Finance as Head of IT and played a leading role in stabilising the
company’s applications base following the rapid launch of the
bank.
Mike’s appointment is announced following a period of nine
months service with the lender as Interim Director of IT.
Commenting on the appointment, David Tweedy, Platform’s Managing
Director said: “The role that IT plays in today’s competitive
marketplace is immeasurable. Platform has made considerable strides
over the past 18 months developing its hugely successful suite of
online ‘click’ facilities to enable our partners to complete the
whole sales process online in a smarter and more efficient fashion.
There are a number of new initiatives that we are currently working
on designed to further enhance our overall proposition such as our
intention to provide instant online offers by the end of the
year.
Mike's breadth of experience and expertise in leading and
developing IT functionality has already brought huge positive
benefits to Platform over the past nine months and I am delighted
that we are able to offer him a permanent role."
