Platform launches new management development incentive
Managers at Platform, the ‘one stop’ intermediary lender
of Britannia Building Society, are to train for the Institute of
Leadership and Management (ILM) Team Leading Certificates. By July,
thirty managers will aim to have gained the Introductory and Full
ILM Certificates in Team Leading.
The ILM courses will be run by Training for Change who already
provide Modern Apprenticeship training for Platform. The
qualifications are designed to improve employee performance in the
organisation through their strong focus on the specific role of
team leaders.
This training represents a significant investment in people and
their development by Platform and sets a new standard for people
management within the company. The training has been tailor-made to
fit in with the company’s annual appraisal, development and
employee reward schemes.
David Tweedy, Managing Director, Platform commented:
"This new people development initiative sets the standard for
how we want to develop our more senior staff at Platform and will
help us to take the business forward in 2004 with fully trained and
qualified people. At Platform we are committed to continually
improving our customer service levels and staff leadership training
is essential in helping us achieve this."
Jerome Goodluck, Account Manager, Training for Change,
added:
" We are delighted to have been chosen to run this programme
with Platform. The training cements Platform’s commitment to
developing their people and gives them a structured approach to
management development."
