Intermediaries concerned over environment says
clickthinking
Latest results from Clickthinking, the regular research
carried out by Platform, the intermediary lender of Britannia,
suggests a growing concern for the environment. Of the 280
intermediary respondents, over 97% said that they were fairly or
extremely concerned about the environment and over 70% were
actively involved in initiatives to recycle waste or to conserve
energy.
The findings come at a time when ‘green’ issues are high on the
news agenda and the future of the environment seems to be a growing
concern for businesses.
Some of the main results include:
- Over 98% of respondents turn the lights
off in their offices before leaving
- 85% switch off their PC monitors before
leaving the office
- Nearly 80% recycle their toner
cartridges
- Over 63% recycle their waste
paper
As part of the Britannia Group, Platform is involved in the
Global Action Plan, a practical environmental charity that helps
people to make positive changes at home, at work, at school and in
the wider community. It has recently switched its paper supplies to
100 per cent recycled, uses vegetable-based ink in its printers and
recycles the majority of its office waste. The lender has also
recently launched its online application tool which allows
intermediaries to submit applications online rather than in
paper-based format.
Paul Hunt, Platform’s Head of Marketing said: “These results are
extremely interesting and confirm not only that environmental
issues are a growing concern for companies but also that they are
prepared to play their part in reducing the harmful effects of
modern day business.”
